Full 1984–1996 C4 dictionary
Paste as many codes as you want (whole glovebox sticker is fine).
Separators: spaces, commas, or new lines. Every code gets a meaning card in the scroll box below.
Search the dictionary
One code, several codes (same as above), or plain English (Callaway, Grand Sport, Bose…).
Where to find your RPO sticker
RPO codes describe how the car was built at the factory. Engine swaps, missing stickers, and dealer add-ons can disagree with the label — always confirm critical equipment on the car.
Full C4-only VIN decoder (1984–1996 Corvette). Reads year, body, engine family, plant, and sequence.
Options are not in the VIN — use the RPO finder for Z51, colors, B2K, seats, etc.
C4 VIN decoder
17 characters from the dash VIN plate (driver side). Letters I, O, Q are never used.
What a C4 VIN does and doesn’t tell you
Does: model year, coupe vs convertible, engine family letter, Bowling Green plant, build sequence, check digit.
Does not: Z51/FX3, paint/interior colors, seats, radio, B2K Callaway (shares L98 VIN letter 8 + RPO B2K), Sledgehammer one-off identity.
Where to look: VIN plate at base of windshield (driver side) · also stamped in other service locations.
This decoder is for 1984–1996 Corvettes only. Engine swaps and paperwork errors exist — confirm under the hood and on the RPO sticker before ordering parts.
